A report prepared for the Western Australian Department of Education and Training exploring the options for providing non-educational, personal support assistance for students with disability in WA TAFE colleges.
This involved widespread consultation with representatives in the VET and disability sector, as well as learners with disability themselves.
The report recommended that provision should be made for personal support assistance in cases where its lack prevented access and participation for learners with disability, and recommended greater cross-jurisdictional collaboration (in particular between disability and education support agencies), the isolation of funding for non-educational support services, and administrative support to enable this to happen.
