Projects   /   Engaging parents in the career development of young people

A report prepared for the (then) Department of Education, Science and Training to explore the nature and impact of parental engagement—and parental engagement strategies—upon the career development of young people.

It sought to define the components of effective parental engagement initiatives, to identify gaps in existing strategies designed to engage parents in the career development of young people, and to propose recommendations on how to address these gaps, and steps forward to improve parental engagement on a national level.

The report’s findings are based on an extensive literature review—incorporating overseas as well as Australian research—and in-depth consultation with a range of key stakeholders in the field of parental engagement strategies.
