Projects / COAG Skills Recognition Taskforce: Licence Recognition
Acting as support consultants to the COAG Skills Recognition Taskforce, Miles Morgan profiled the licensing, accreditation, and registration requirements for a range of occupations and conducted supporting workshops to implement Australia’s mutual recognition policy for occupational licensing, registration, and accreditation.
Australia’s Mutual Recognition Act (1992) effectively states that any person licensed to perform an occupation in one jurisdiction is eligible for registration in that occupation in all other states and territories.
Miles Morgan’s profiling and consultancy work crucially facilitated the cooperation of state and industry regulators to develop a national mutual recognition process for a range of occupations.
The outputs from the Taskforce’s work are available at www.licencerecognition.gov.au.
