Miles Morgan created a series of videos for Adult Learners Week, showcasing success stories from the Adult and Community Education sector throughout Australia.

Adult Learners Week (ALW) is a celebration of the lifelong learning that occurs both formally and informally throughout communities across the nation. The intention of the ACE TV! project was to contribute to the celebration by documenting and sharing good news stories that demonstrate the diversity of experiences, programs and people involved in the adult and community learning sector in all states and territories.

In particular, we sought to create a series of videos that would reflect the values, goals and principles of the 2008 Ministerial Declaration on ACE. These good news stories were designed to promote the benefits of adult participation in community education, and, in particular, to highlight the benefits of ‘second chance’ education for those people who do not usually consider themselves learners.

Miles Morgan has enjoyed the opportunity to work on a project that promotes Adult Community Education in Australia, and that has involved working with the many representatives of ACE who very willingly participated in this national project.

Our strategic partnership with MultiMediaMakers combined journalism and filmmaking skills with ACE knowledge and experience to create a unique promotional product for the sector.

This project made a significant contribution to the promotion of adult community education and Adult Learner’s Week 2010, through its online presence as Youtube channel, ACE TV! It’s all good news for adults (http://www.acetv.com.au), which was also promoted through the ACE TV! Facebook group, and Twitter account, and through the national distribution of the DVD, ACE TV! It’s all good news for adult learners (funded by DEEWR).
